Edible Vibe closing
Farewell dinner planned for Sept. 10
Edible Vibe Cafe is closing. The restaurant located on Franklin Street in Rocky Mount will close Saturday after five years in business. Karen Schopp, who owns the business with her husband John, said their catering business, Center Stage Catering, will remain open.
"We can only do so much and it just came to the point where we needed to make a decision," said Karen Schopp. "We've just had two feet in two boats for too long."
Closing the cafe will allow the couple to dedicate more time to their catering business, which they've operated for 10 years, she said.
"Our catering has been going really strong," said Schopp. "We have a very strong 2011 season booked already."
The cafe space is available for sale or lease as a turnkey, said Schopp.
"It's ready for somebody to come in and take over," she said. "We have a great customer base for somebody that wanted to come in and run it for themselves."
A farewell dinner is being planned for Friday, Sept. 10 at the cafe. Schopp said more details will be announced later.
