Business Expo to include job fair
Chamber will have handouts listing what jobs are available in the area.
Looking for a job? Are you an employer with a job opening? The SML Regional Chamber of Commerce is offering a service to connect job seekers with employers at this month's Smith Mountain Lake Business Expo.
Jim Shauberger, Chamber event manager, said the Chamber will have handouts listing what jobs are available and how to apply at its booth during the Expo. A representative from the Virginia Employment Commission also will be at the booth, offering advice to business owners and job seekers, he said.
"We're trying to do everything we can to help the economy and we just thought that might be an additional item we could offer," said Shauberger.
Any business, regardless of Chamber membership, can sign up to have jobs listed at no cost. Shauberger said the information is needed as soon as possible.
The Expo, a networking event for businesses and the community, is April 29 from noon to 5 p.m. at Downtown Moneta.
