VIRGINIA DARE FLOTILLA FOR TOYS | A lighted boat parade that kicks off the holiday season at SML while facilitating the collection of toys by Lake Christian Ministries (LCM). The flotilla starts at 7 p.m. at Virginia Dare Marina, cruises up to Bridgewater Plaza (arriving around 8), circles back by the SML State Park (approximately 8:45) and returns to the marina at approximately 9. Anyone who participates in or watches the flotilla is encouraged to donate a new toy, which LCM will distribute directly to children in need in Bedford and Franklin counties. In addition to Virginia Dare Marina, Flotilla for Toys boxes are located at Bridgewater Plaza (SML Visitor Center, Chopsticks and Moosie’s), SML State Park, Capps Home Building Center, both Dollar General stores, Franklin Community Bank, Stellar One, Hot Shots, Moneta Farm & Home Center, The General Store, Westlake Auto, Sea Tow and LCM.
