It's not too late to enter first-ever all-PWC poker run

There's still time to register for the lake's first PWC-only poker run, hosted by the SML Powerboating Association. The Saturday event includes five card stops, food and $2,500 in cash prizes.

Registration forms will be available tonight at Mango's Bar & Grill from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday at Webster Marine Center from 8 to 10 a.m.

Captains must be at least 18 years old to participate. Registration is $75 per captain and $75 per rider, with a one-rider limit. The captain's entry fee includes 2009 membership into SMLPBA. Non-playing riders are $15. Registration includes post-poker-run food at Mango's.

The poker run begins Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with a captain's meeting at Webster Marine Center. After five card stops, the PWC riders will return to Mango's Bar & Grill by 3 p.m. for food, scoring and prizes.

Prizes, awarded for best hand, will be: 1st, $1,000; 2nd, $700; 3rd, $500; 4th, $200; and 5th, $100. Medals also will be awarded.

Kyle Enslow, SMLPBA vice president and event coordinator, said the club plans to host the PWC-only poker run annually as a fundraiser and membership drive.
