Town hall meeting planned

The Smith Mountain Lake Association will host its annual town hall and membership meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at Trinity Ecumenical Parish.

At the meeting, which is open to the public, SMLA representatives will talk about the lake's health, including water quality, invasive weeds and stormwater runoff. Appalachian Power's relicensing and Shoreline Management Plan also will be discussed. A Q&A session and social hour will follow, where visitors can learn about the various roles of SMLA.
