SMAC photo show opens tonight
A free reception and awards ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Lakers' photo skills will be on display this weekend for the annual John Faber Memorial Photography Contest and Show.
The exhibit, which is sponsored by Smith Mountain Arts Council, opens tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The reception is free and open to the public.
Awards will be presented to photographers in eight categories: sunrise/sunset or SML scene; landscapes and historical locations; people; wildlife and pets; architecture; close-up, macro or still life; digital manipulation; and youth.
Visitors also can view the photos Saturday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 27 from noon to 4 p.m.
After the exhibit comes down, the winning photos will be displayed through the month of June at Artfully Framed at the Lake, located at The Forum on Virginia 122 in Moneta.
