Lakeside Singers will have new leadership

First practice will be March 2

Ken Nagle and Ned Coryell will serve as the new leaders for Lakeside Singers for 2010. Lakeside Singers is part of Smith Mountain Arts Council.

"We are glad Ned and Ken volunteered to head up this wonderful group," said Mike Dittrich, SMAC president. "We are very happy that Valshera Johnson will return as the musical director, with Susan Spataro continuing as pianist."

Judy Reap, past president of SMAC said: "Liz Stubelt led the group for many years and built the June concerts into anticipated events. We thank her for service and hope that she will continue to sing with the group."

A kickoff potluck dinner will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at Trinity Ecumenical Parish at 6 p.m. The first practice is on Tuesday, March 2, at Trinity at 7 p.m.

The Lakeside Singer concerts have a different schedule this year. The Friday, June 4 concert is in the evening at 7 p.m. There will be a Saturday, June 5 matinee at 2 p.m. Both are at Trinity Ecumenical Parish.

Current singers and those interested in joining the four-part harmony group, long a tradition of the lake area, should call Coryell, 525-3884, or Nagle, 297-058.
