Celebrations
Chinah Helmandollar & Bradley Jewell

Hardy resident Chinah Helmandollar, who recently ended her reign as Miss Virginia, is engaged to be married to Bradley Jewell of Elliston. They plan to marry in May at a yet-to-be-decided location at Smith Mountain Lake.
Helmandollar, 24, a former Miss Smith Mountain Lake, is the daughter of Jan Helmandollar of Hardy and Bob Helmandollar of Salem. A graduate of James Madison University, she is working as production coordinator for "Lake Effects," a film scheduled to begin shooting next month at SML.
Jewell, 24, is stock room manager at The Cottage Gate at Westlake. His parents are Frank and Brenda Jewell of Elliston. The Bridgewater College graduate is the nephew of Twila and Allen Tolley, owners of The Cottage Gate.
Helmandollar said Jewell proposed to her Aug. 8 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. All the parents knew it was going to happen, but Helmandollar said she never suspected a thing.
"I've never been so surprised in my entire life," she said.
