What's open on Thanksgiving Day

If you want to hang up the oven gloves and let somebody else cook your turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie, you may be out of luck. Most restaurants at Smith Mountain Lake will be closed for the holiday, but area grocery stores will have turkey and all the trimmings to take home.

Following are some of the places that will remain open on Thanksgiving:

Benjamin's at The Pointe:

Open for buffet: Noon until 6 p.m. Mariners Landing, Huddleston. 297-4900.

Mayberry Diner:

Open for Thanksgiving feast including turkey and all the fixings: 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. 1696 White House Road, Moneta. 296-1480.

Kroger at Westlake:

Open 24 hours. 721-3102.

Food Lion in Moneta:

7 a.m. until 3 p.m. 721-5716.

CVS at Westlake:

Pharmacy: 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; store: 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. 721-6169.

Westlake Cinema:

Show times from 4 p.m. until 9:40 p.m. 721-6326.
