Getting Here is Easy
Three main routes can get you to SmithMountainLake
in less than an hour from most parts of the RoanokeValley.
Follow the directions below to the SMLVisitorCenter
at BridgewaterPlaza, a great place to start your
vacation.
From Vinton or Downtown Roanoke
Head south on Hardy
Road or Rt. 116, both of which deadend into Rt.
122. Turn left and take Rt. 122 to HalesFordBridge.
The VisitorCenter will be on your right.
From North Roanoke
Take Rt. 24 east toward Stewartsville. Turn right on Rt. 122
and head south to HalesFordBridge.
The VisitorCenter will be on your left.
From Salem and South Roanoke
Take Rt. 220 south throught Boones Mill. Turn left onto Wirtz Road (at the
Bojangles/DQ) and take it until it deadends into Rt. 122. Turn left and take
Rt. 122 to HalesFordBridge.
The VisitorCenter will be on your right.
