Anglers converged on Smith Mountain Lake on Oct. 27 for the 2018 Striper Mafia Fall Brawl.
More than 100 anglers and 43 teams competed in the first event in the series.
Of the 43 teams, 32 entered fish, with a total of 55 fish pictures being submitted in the catch-photo-release format tournament.
First place went to Team Squidhound, which included Matthew Hinman, Norman Hinman and David Farley of Hardy. They had a two fish total of 72 inches.
Second place went to Team Pontus with Corey Bartley and Finn Bartley of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Josh Boudreau of Charlotte, North Carolina, with a two-fish total of 70.25 inches.
Third place was awarded to Team SHAD UP with Chris Mikels and Frank Mikels of Princeton, West Virginia with a two-fish total of 70 inches.
Finn Bartley with Team Pontus placed first in the youth category with a 42-inch striper.
Ashley Early with Team Yellatop took top standing in the series-long ladies competition with a 37.75-inch striped bass.
The big fish of the event and $1,000 was awarded to Team Pontus with a 42-inch striped bass.
The next Striper Mafia event will be Dec. 8.
