Waller's restaurant to become Drifter's

Ryan Walters and Jaclyn Westfall recently purchased Waller’s restaurant in Bedford County with plans to reopen June 20 as Drifter’s.

One Smith Mountain Lake restaurant recently changed ownership and soon will have a new name.

Waller’s, a waterfront restaurant in Bedford County, was purchased June 5 by Ryan Walters and Jaclyn Westfall, two members of the former restaurant’s management team. Renamed Drifter’s, the restaurant has a target opening date of June 20.

“Ryan and Jaclyn are hard working, eager and energetic,” said Waller Perrow, who opened Waller’s at Crystal Shores Marina in 2011. “I’m thrilled to pass the torch on to them because I’m confident in their abilities to continue the restaurant’s mission, core values and philanthropic dedication to the community.”

With the exception of the name change, the new owners said the restaurant will remain the same.

“We will still have the same standards, same quality of food, and same culture that has made Waller’s so incredibly popular with locals and tourists,” Westfall said.
