"The Day is Past & Gone: A Trilogy of Slave Life"

Teresa Harris’ original trilogy, “The Day is Past & Gone: A Trilogy of Slave Life,” will be performed at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest on May 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Harris, who also directs the production, explores the lives of enslaved African-Americans at Poplar Forest and their struggles to survive in three vignettes. All are true stories that have been documented in letters and archaeological evidence.

Guests are invited to bring a picnic dinner and a blanket or chairs.

Tickets to are $15 per person.
