The Striper Mafia Spring Fling, sponsored by Captain’s Quarters, was held April 13. It was the fourth and final event in the 2018-19 Striper Mafia tournament series.

In the final tournament, 47 teams and nearly 120 anglers competed for cash and prizes.

Placing first in the catch-photo-release style tournament was Team Squidhound with Matthew and Norman Hinnman and David Farly. They won $1,200 with a catch total of 75.25 inches.

Second place went to Team Reely Blessed with Chris Lindsay, Wyatt Lindsay, Wyatt James and Chris Priggen.

They won $950 with a catch of 69.25 inches. Team Donna’s Doing It Mongo with Tyler Early, Brock Newton and Jeff May won $500 with a catch of 68 inches.

Team Squidhound won the big fish category with a 38.25-inch striper, taking home an additional $1,125.

The youth angler of the series award was presented to Wyatt Lindsey with Team Reely Blessed. He was awarded a Lew’s spinning rod and reel.

The lady angler of the series award was presented to Stacy Bolt with Team Bolt Fin-Atics for a 39-inch striper she caught in December. She won a Reactor timepiece from Haywood’s Jewelers.

The big fish of the series award was presented to Team Pontus with a 42-inch striper caught at the October event.

The team won a 50-gallon Creek Bait Bank Tank.

Team Squidhound was named the Humminbird/MinnKota team of the year and won a prize package worth more than $6,000, including a Humminbird Solix 12 sonar and a MinnKota Riptide Ulterra trolling motor.

The anglers also contributed more than 700 jars of peanut butter to be donated to the Food for Kids Weekend Pack-A-Sack Program.
