Australians visit Rotary Club of SML

The Rotary Club of Smith Mountain Lake hosted five Rotarians from Queensland, Australia earlier this month. They were guests at a club meeting, had dinner at a member’s home and toured the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford. The group will spend four weeks in the U.S. visiting with other clubs through the Rotary Friendship Exchange program that gives Rotarians and their families the opportunity to experience other cultures firsthand, by participating in reciprocal visits with Rotarians from other countries and their families. The goal of the program is to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through person-to-person contacts across national boundaries.
