Several bluegrass bands are all scheduled for this year’s Ray Judd’s Music in the Park throughout the summer at Smith Mountain Lake State Park in Huddleston.
Sponsored by the Friends of SML State Park group, the performances are scheduled for every fourth Saturday at 8 p.m. at the park’s beach pavilion.
The first performance will be May 25 when Robert Tilley and The Hardtimes Band perform classic country and traditional bluegrass songs. Other dates and performers include: June 22, The Country Boys; July 27, The Wildfire Band; Aug. 24, Two Young Two Old.
The bands will be accompanied by the Old Dominion Cloggers dance group.
The cost is $5 per person to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Drinks, food, snacks and ice cream will be available for purchase.
There is no parking fee. The event is free for children 12 and younger.
