Area residents can help seniors in need by donating soup, canned food and crackers to the Aging Services’ fourth annual Soup for Seniors collection drive.
The nonprofit is collecting soups, crackers, canned meats and peanut butter from Feb. 3 through 7 at Essig Recreation Center in Rocky Mount.
Donations can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Collected items will be put into reusable cloth bags and distributed the third week in February.
Last year the nonprofit collected more than 5,300 canned goods and distributed more than 275 bags to local seniors in need.
