Striper Mafia and Sea Tow — SML collected hundreds of jars of peanut butter during the Striper Mafia’s spring tournament awards ceremony at Hot Shots on March 14.

More than 400 jars of peanut butter were collected from friends, neighbors and Sea Tow members before the tournament.

At the awards ceremony, participating anglers also made a donation.

Those who donated peanut butter were given a raffle ticket for every four jars of peanut butter. The raffle tickets were for prize drawings.

The collected peanut butter was delivered to the Food for Kids Weekend Pack-A-Sack program that packs food for children who qualify for free or reduced lunches to make sure those children do not go hungry when they are not in school.

Approximately 400 students at Goodview, Huddleston, Montvale and Moneta elementary schools are helped with these food sacks weekly.
