Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest

Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” will be performed under the stars at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest starting Aug. 22.

Shakespearean theatre returns to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest with Rogue Productions’ presentation of “Twelfth Night.”

“Twelfth Night” will be presented in seven performances on Aug. 22 through 25 and Aug. 29 through 31. Performances will begin at 7 p.m. each evening with one 15-minute intermission.

All of the costumes and settings have been made from recycled and repurposed materials, giving non-biodegradable pieces a new life in an effort to make “Twelfth Night” an environmentally friendly show.

Guests are invited to bring a picnic dinner, a blanket or chairs — and experience the magic of Shakespeare’s verse performed under a starry night sky. Wine and beer will be available for purchase during each performance.

Tickets are $15 per person, and reservations are recommended. For more information, visit poplarforest.org or call 434-534-8120.
