Smith Mountain Arts Council held its 30th annual Art Show at Bethlehem United Methodist Church on Oct. 25, 26 and 27. More than 100 people attended the community reception and awards ceremony on the evening of Oct. 25 to kickoff the weekend event.

This year’s judge was Whitney Brock, who paints and teaches in Roanoke, while also maintaining a studio in Moneta. She chose the work of high school senior Hannah C. Grove as this year’s best in show winner for her work titled “The Day After.” Grove’s piece also won the People’s Choice award from votes by visitors to the show throughout the weekend.
