Nut House

For more than 20 years the Bethlehem United Methodist Men’s group in Moneta has roasted and packed 250,000-plus jars of their famous peanuts with all the profits going to local charities. Fortunately, their inventory in their kitchen, also known as the Nut House, has carried their sales through the current COVID-19 pandemic, although stocks were getting low. However, using proper measures, the cooking team resumed their duties after a break that lasted more than two months. Recently, members, including Don Reichart, Alan Milne, executive chef Harry Simmerman, crew chief Bart Frankena, Kurt Schoenberg and Jerry Zachman, processed 55 cases of peanuts.
